An Oregonian Christmas

It began with an 8-hour drive up I-5 with my dad, through the beautiful mountains of Shasta.

Drives with dad are always easy. We chat and listen to music and snack, snack, snack. And he drives with no hands.

After finally making it to Grants Pass (on a FLASHING empty tank), we left our stuff in the Prius and ran inside to warm greetings. This was my first trip to my grandparents house in Oregon, and everyone was VERY excited that "BRIANNE CAME!" The next few days were full of typical Christmas goodness. Slama traditions ensued, including the Slama Bowl, "12 Days of Christmas" and lots and lots of fruit salad. This year, as we waited for a few family members to arrive for Family Night, Brad decided it was time to make a family pyramid. And if you know Brad, his ideas always sound good.

In a nutshell, Christmas in Oregon was nice. It was good to have a few days of lounging around with no responsibilities and to catch up with my extended family.

And...I got my hula hoop!
